Hadronic

A few months ago I co-founded a company in stealth, where I serve as CTO. It now has a name, a website, and a hiring page: Hadronic.

A few of us from the open source Java world got back together. We are building a platform to develop and run AI-driven applications and agents with the guarantees enterprises expect, starting from the Java they already run rather than from a blank page. Open source at the core. Sovereignty as a design goal, not a compliance checkbox.

Here is what I am after. I believe Java has a strong future. Not in a nostalgic way: it is tailored for the enterprise on more dimensions than any other stack I know, from the runtime to the tooling to the sheer number of people who can maintain and evolve a system ten years after it shipped. I also believe AI and agentic systems are here to stay, in one form or another, and that they will deeply transform businesses. Not in the big-bang fashion people tend to picture, but profoundly nevertheless. Put those two convictions together, and the conclusion writes itself. Enterprises will build AI-infused and agentic applications; they will build them on Java, and somebody has to make that a comprehensive, enterprise-ready experience. As the saying goes, the best way to predict that future is to invent it. That’s what I intend to help drive as CTO of Hadronic.

I don’t have much more to share yet. The website says a little more, and has a newsletter if you want to hear when we step out of stealth. That is the best place to watch.

This moment in our industry is extremely exciting. I can’t wait to show how we want to shape it.
